Are entries refundable or transferable?
There is no waiting list for entries and entries are not refundable or transferable. Unfortunately, due to permits and insurance we cannot accept further entries for the event once it has sold out. Santa's List is set for the race!
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are allowed! Santas little helpers are always welcome! Dogs without a race bib will not receive a medal.
We would ask all participants to please start near the back, take it easy and keep santa's little helpers on a short lead.
Are prams/buggys allowed?
Yes of course! Santa needs his slay to carry all the presents! Any participants without a bib will not
receive a medal. We also ask all participants with a buggy to please start near the back, take it easy and be
mindful of other runners.
Can my child visit Santa if they aren't participating in the race?
As long as one person in the family has a race bib, the whole family can see Santa in his grotto and get a little present.
Can we visit Santa while my family member is running?
Of course! sometimes it can be a bit of a wait for the Santas to get back to the finish line. You can visit Santa with the whole family while you wait for your family member to finish. Just provide valid proof of entry to Santas helper at his grotto. This could be a print out of the race entry confirmation or the race entry confirmation saved to your phone.
Can my child participate on a wheels?
Where possible, we recommend a buggy as the perfect Santa slay for the little kids. However, children may participate in the 5k on a 3 wheel scooter provided they wear a helmet. 2 wheel scooters, pushbikes and bicycles are not permitted for safety reasons. We also ask families with children on a 3 wheel scooter to start near the back.
Note: participants without a bib will not receive a medal.

Sustainability
Santa Dash Dublin is committed to being sustainabile in every way we possibly can, here is how we are doing it:
Santa Suits:
- Material and Recycling: The santa suits are made from 100% virgin polyester felt. We ask all participants to hold onto their suits to use them again at home or to donate them or re-use the material for home art projects. We are committing to our participants that we will recycle the santa suits left with us by participants that dont want them after the race. However, from a sustainability perspective it is better that the suits are brought home and re-used in some other way by participants. Clear plastic waste bags will be available on race day specifically for the suits, just ask a volunteer for information on this on race day. If you want to recycle your suits in future, you can bring the suits to a clothing bank and the suits will be recycled.
- Transport/Import: The suits are manufactured in China but we have ordered the suits from a company in the UK called Running Imp. This means that the suits have not been shipped specifically for the event. They have been shipped as a collective mass to the UK and held in stock; this saves on CO2 emissions produced by transport.
- Human Rights: We have checked the human rights situation in the factory in which the suits have been manufactured in China. We have confirmed it is both SMETA and SEDEX approved. This means that slave and child labour were not used to manufacture the suits. You can find more information on SMETA and SEDEX approvals here: www.sedex.com
Medals:
- Material and Recycling: The medals are made from zinc alloy with a recycled polyester heat transfer ribbon. Both are recyclable if needed in the future at recycle centres.
- Human Rights: We have checked the human rights situation in the the factory in which the medals have been manufactured in China. We have confirmed it is both SMETA and SEDEX approved. This means that slave and child labour were not used to manufacture the medals. You can find more information on SMETA and SEDEX approvals here: www.sedex.com
PortaLoos:
We have double checked the environmental impact of the porter loos used at the event. The company has confirmed that biodegradable chemicals are used and that local water requirements for safe waste disposal are adhered to.
If you have any more ideas for us on how we can be more sustainable, please do let us know!
